Amazon UnBoxed 2023 has been and gone and again revealed several exciting updates coming to Amazon Ads in 2024 and beyond.
If you are unsure as to what Amazon UnBoxed is, here’s a quick recap of the event and what it entails:
Amazon UnBoxed is an annual event hosted by Amazon Ads which aims to educate advertisers on how best to utilise Amazon Ads to create strong connections with shoppers across the entirety of their purchasing journey.
Additionally, this event features insights and recommendations from advertising experts, product deep dives, and keynote sessions, that highlight exciting updates that both sellers and vendors should be on the lookout for.
This year, UnBoxed visited both New York and London, allowing Amazon sellers from across the globe to hear about the latest updates to Amazon’s ever-growing advertising space.
With the Toucan team attending both events, we’ve pulled together the key announcements that were presented across both the US & EU focussed seminars:
Sponsored TV - This is a self-service ad solution for US brands of all sizes to be able to reach audiences on streaming TV services such as Freevee, Twitch, and some Fire TV apps.
Sponsored Brand Video to become available at the top of search - Given the strong CTR AND CvR we have seen for current SBV placements, we expect the top of search video ads to be another great tool to build strong connections with consumers early on in their shopping journey.
Sponsored Display Video is now live - A further example of how important video is becoming in building a strong digital presence. Consumers are 17x more likely to click on a video than a static image (when exposed for more than 5 seconds).
Amazon Posts & Follow feature to become available globally - With the following option, brands can engage directly with consumers who already have a strong connection to the brand. This feature is already available to US sellers but it’s great to see the capability opened up to other marketplaces.
